Almost every class in World of Warcraft has seen several
changes with the launch of the new expansion called Cataclysm. And of course
the Death Knight class is of no exception to this. The talent tree is not only
recreated, but as well as the regeneration of their runes. The new Death Knight
players will have to take some time to familiarize these changes like the new
procs which now become part of the Runic Empowerment. What this means is that,
your old rotations may no longer work because these runes are now procs when
refreshed.

Having these changes gives the DK class a better upper hand
when it comes to PVP because of their easy accessibility to runes unlike in PVE
where your main focus is on maximizing each DPS point that you have to throw at
the enemy. One major change that you’ll probably notice not just in Death
Knight but to all classes as well is that the new talent trees have become a
specialized build and not just a slight variation or combination of other
talents.
The Death Knight has been regarded as a dangerous class to
go PVP with. With the previous expansions, most of the top players only use the
Unholy as the only spec effective for PVP, but with Cataclysm, all three talent
trees can now be used and still dominate the battle. The new talents like the
Dark Transformation and Shadow Infusion will allow your Death Coil to take a
lot of runic power. Your pet can also rampage for 30 seconds with its highly
enhanced abilities using Dark Transformation.
Another major player to look forward to is the Unholy
Blight, what it does is it prevents dispel of diseases to you while you are
powering up your Death Coil. You can further enhance this spell by adding a
Glyph of Death Coil and become the death reaper of the game. But always make
sure that you select your skills carefully and not just choose the DPS spells,
try to give up some of that DPS for some survivability so you can stay longer and
owning on the battlefield. One good thing that brought by these changes is that
it lets players using Death Knights play their own style of game and not just
simply copy other players. This adds to the fun and unpredictability of the
game.
A lot of players, especially the new ones consider PVP as
the toughest challenge in the game. But with the correct talent build, glyph
use and specs, you can certainly get the Edge and turn the tide of the battle into your favor.
